Exhibition Statement
‘삶은 건축을 그려낸다(Life Imitates Architecture)’는 김해숙, 박효정, 수네 혼, 초대작가 권영성의 작품들로 진행되었습니다. 이번 전시는 예술과 사회 구조 사이의 복잡한 관계 속에서 도시 건축과 현대 사회의 실존적이고 복잡한 연관성에 관한 주제로 이루어졌습니다.작가들은 건축적 도상학의 이미지를 통해 건축환경에 내재된 암시적 가치를 보여줌과 동시에 도시 생활의 일상적인 어려움에 대해 뚜렷한 관점을 제시하고 현대 사회에서 살아가는 의미와 소속감을 드러내려하고 있습니다. 건축물에 반영된 내러티브한 요소는 현대를 살아가는 우리들의 경험을 의미하고 있으며 관객들에게 혼자가 아니라는 점을 인식하고 그 안에서 위안을 갖도록 하려는데 그 의미가 있습니다.
Life Imitates Architecture brings together the works of Kim Haesook, Park Hyo Jung, Suné Horn, and invited artist, Kwon Young Sung. The exhibition explores the intricate relationship between art and societal structures. This exhibition delves into the connection between urban architecture and the quest for existential meaning in contemporary society. Through their unique use of architectural iconography, the artists unveil implicit values embedded within our built environment. Each contributor offers a distinct perspective on the daily struggles of urban living, weaving a collective narrative on the search for meaning and belonging in modern society. “Life Imitates Architecture” invites viewers to engage in a dialogue about shared challenges or find solace in the acknowledgment that they are not alone in their quest for significance.
